A runaway dog has been found 50 miles from home after jumping on a train.

Frankie, a Jack Russell, caught a 6.56am train from Gravesend to London during rush hour as he embarked on an escape mission. After wandering up and down the train for a while, he ended up settling on a window seat, much to the amusement of commuters.

Frankie's owner Jane Abbott received a call from the train company informing her where he was. She was shocked that Frankie opted to travel by train during his getaway.

She said: "What we don't understand is why Frankie chose rail. He's never been on a train before."
