Seven hours sleep a night is the optimum amount, according to researchers in Canada.
Not getting enough sleep, and long lie-ins, could be bad for the brain and have an impact in later life.
Scientists believe those who restrict themselves to seven hours can prevent their brain from ageing by an extra two years.
The research was presented at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference in Vancouver, Canada.
