Sun trap

An elderly lady got trapped in a deckchair for six hours.

The grandmother was sitting out on her balcony in Scarborough, England, sunbathing when he fabric underneath her gave way and she found herself stuck in the chair’s frame.

The 83-year-old shouted for help but none of her neighbours heard her calls.

Thankfully a local fire crew checking fire alarms in the area eventually hear her and came to her aid.

They climbed the railings of a neighbouring property, and called paramedics, who transferred her to a local hospital for a check up.

A Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “This was an unusual incident, but our firefighters are trained for every eventuality.”
