Canadian man survives bear attack in outhouse
A Canadian man feared for his life when he was dragged off the toilet by a black bear.
Gord Shurvell, 65, was doing his business in an outhouse at Dunbar Lake, where he was enjoying a fishing trip with his friend, when the beast stormed into the loo, grabbed his pants and started attacking him as he fought back with toilet paper.
Gord said: "I’m sitting on the throne, and my feet are sort of up on the ‘poopstool,’ we call it.
“So I’m kicking at him to get away, but he grabbed my pants that were down around my ankles. And that was the start of it, and he just kept coming.”
The bear dragged Gord towards the bush but he managed to alert his friend Danny, who shot the beast in the head.
Gord escaped the incident with scratches to the head, neck and arms as well as a puncture wound to the back of his head.
