PETA pie billboard criticised

A billboard in the UK has been slammed for depicting a pie in the shape of a coffin.

The National Obesity Forum (NOF) has hit out at the advertisement, which links death with eating meat, because it recommends becoming a vegan to avoid getting obese.

But PETA – which is responsible for the billboard – said the advert was placed in Gloucester because the city in the south west of England is the location of a new mortuary for obese bodies, which weigh up to 50 stone.
