Ministers mull Serbia bid for EU membership

European Union foreign ministers are deciding whether Serbia should become a candidate for membership after it reached a key agreement with its former province of Kosovo.

German and Swedish foreign ministers said the bloc is likely to approve the move at today’s meeting. EU heads of state will have to sign off on the deal later this week.
