Candidates for Egyptian presidency sought
The Egyptian military said candidates wishing to run for president may nominate themselves starting in mid-April.
Supreme Council of the Armed Forces member Major General Mohsen el-Fangari told Egypt’s state television that presidential elections would be held in mid-June.
It would be the first presidential election since Hosni Mubarak was ousted in a popular uprising last January.
On January 25, Egyptians will mark a year since the start of the popular uprising that forced President Hosni Mubarak out of office.
The military took over after Mr Mubarak resigned.
