Police find tunnel under Mexican jail

Mexican investigators have found a 40-yard (metre) tunnel that inmates chiselled underneath a prison in the northern city of Chihuahua in an effort to escape.

The 30-inch (76 cms) diameter tunnel was lit and almost finished with just 16 feet (4.8 metres) left before reaching the desert outside, officials said.
