Newspapers and magazines in the UK have agreed to two new rules in the Editors’ Code of Practice to “explode some popular fallacies about press self-regulation”, the editor of the Daily Mail said today.

The two changes, which will be introduced from January 1, have been agreed by the code committee following consultation with the industry and the Press Complaints Commission (PCC).
