Paris eco-car claims first victim

A noiseless electric car, part of a brand new car-sharing programme in Paris, has knocked over a pedestrian who apparently did not hear it coming.

Police say the woman was struck as she crossed a street against the light, hours after the Paris’ Autolib’ scheme started.
