Health and safety instructor falls off ladder during demonstration

A UK health and safety instructor has been suspended after he fell off a ladder.

Paul Kavanagh was showing a group of workers the correct way to use the equipment while working on their own, but he forgot to follow his own rules and toppled to the ground.

He was suspended by his employer, Morrison Facility Services, who have acted to reassure concerned customers.

A statement by the company read: “Morrison takes the safety of our staff and the public extremely seriously and we are sorry that one of our employees appears to have been demonstrating the use of a ladder system incorrectly.

"We would like to reassure all of our customers that our health and safety controls are robust and that this incident does not in any way reflect our usual operations."
