Colombian soldiers killed in rebel offensive
A rebel attack has killed at least 10 soldiers in Colombia’s north east, the military said.
It is the second attack in less than three days to kill 10 soldiers. That total is the worst loss suffered by Colombian security forces in more than a year.
Both attacks are being blamed on the leftist Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.
The army command said the attack happened in a rural area of Tame municipality about 200 miles north east of Bogota. The army’s announcement gives no details of the attack.
An attack in Colombia’s south west around midnight on Thursday also killed 10 soldiers.
