Salvage crew waits for equipment to pump oil off stricken ship
A salvage crew has returned to the stricken container ship which is stuck on a reef off the northern coast of New Zealand.
The Rena has spilt more than 350 tonnes of fuel oil into the Bay of Plenty, an environmentally sensitive area of the North Island.
It is feared the ship could break in two and spill the rest of the fuel it is carrying.
Equipment to pump oil from the ship is due to arrive on board this evening.
However, the operation won't begin until tomorrow, and is expected to take several days to complete.
