13 killed in Iraq restaurant bomb blast

Thirteen people have been killed in a car bomb attack outside a restaurant south of Baghdad, an Iraqi doctor said today.

Dr Zuhair al-Khafaji, of the Hillah hospital, said the explosion in the town of al-Shumali, which happened shortly before 8am local time, also injured 41 bystanders.
