Thrilled motorists grab falling cash from bank truck

The fantasy of seeing banknotes fluttering down from the sky came true for one Dutch motorist after a package containing cash apparently fell from the back of a bank transport truck.

The incident triggered a dangerous scramble for the euro bills yesterday on the busy A2 highway near Maastricht.

Eyewitnesses say people parked their cars on the road's hard shoulder grabbed handfuls of cash and then ran back into their cars and drove away.

It is still not known how much was taken.
