Bus crash kills 40 children in Bangladesh

At least 40 children died when their school bus crashed into a canal in Bangladesh.

Police said the bodies have been recovered from the wreckage of the accident in Chittagong district.

They said the death toll may rise as more bodies were feared trapped inside the sunken vehicle.

The pupils, aged between eight and 12, were returning home from a local school soccer tournament.

Chittagong is around 130 miles from the capital Dhaka.
