Germany introduces eight fortune-telling octopuses
A German aquarium has introduced eight fortune-telling octopuses to its branches.
Following the success of Paul - the octopus who correctly predicted the outcome of all eight games he was challenged to forecast in last year's football World Cup in South Africa by choosing a team's flag by moving towards it - the same aquarium has attempted to recreate the event by having a football-predicting octopus at each of its main venues.
The animals will be urged to predict the outcomes of this year's women's football World Cup.
One of the creatures called Ophira, who is based in Berlin, has already correctly guessed that hosts Germany would see off Canada in their opening game.
But there is more pressure for her brother Paul, who works at the Oberhausen branch where the original Paul the octopus first shot to fame.
He correctly predicted Germany would beat Canada, but only after changng his mind.
