An Australian hospital patient got drunk after consuming six bottles of alcohol-based hand sanitiser.

The 45-year-old man - who had been undergoing medical treatment for alcohol-related gastritis - was found by staff to have a blood-alcohol concentration of more than five times the country's legal driving limit after downing the 375-millilitre bottles of liquid.
