Skinny dippers set world record

A group of Welsh skinny dippers have set a new Guinness World Record.

Some 400 nude bathers took to the sand at Wales' Rhissili Beach and propelled themselves into the freezing cold sea, smashing the existing record of 250 naked swimmers in one location.

Participant Steve Absalom said: "I'm quite shy and I have never swum naked before so to do it in front of 400 people was a bit of an eye-opener. But there was no embarrassment - it was just great fun."

Organisers of the sponsored event - which was put on to raise money for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity and the National Trust - are hoping the mass skinny dip will have raised more than &8,000.
