Survey unveils world's most popular food

The most popular food in the world has been revealed - pasta.

In a survey of 17 countries by Oxfam, the Italian fare came up trumps followed by meat, rice dishes and pizza.

Sushi made it into the top ten in Russia, Brazil, Mexico, the US and South Africa - while Australians showed their love of all things sweet, choosing chocolate as their favourite food.

The research was carried out as part of a campaign on conversation and how to grow and share food now and in the future.
