School pupil prank could lead to prison

A school pupil could face an eight-year jail term after playing a blow-up doll "prank" on a girl.

Tyell Morton, Rushville High School senior in the US, was charged with felony criminal mischief after he was spotted taking a mysterious package into a girl's bathroom and then leaving without it, which led suspicious staff to call the bomb squad fearing he had planted an explosive.

He told reporters: "It was just a senior prank, you know. I mean they're blowing it out of proportion."

"I didn't hurt anybody, I didn't intend to embarrass anybody. What did I do wrong, you know?"

He is now expected to miss his graduation after being banned from entering the school grounds.
