Officials investigate German festival in E.coli probe

Health officials in Germany believe a restaurant or festival may be the source of the E.coli outbreak, which has killed 19 people across Europe and left up to 2,000 more seriously ill.

Scientists have identified a restaurant in Luebeck as a possible spot where the bug was passed on after one person died and 17 others fell sick, after eating there.

However, the restaurant owner denies that his establishment is the source of the outbreak.

The Hamburg Port Festival, which took place at the beginning of May and was attended by more than a million people, is also being investigated.

Cases of E.coli began to rise just after the festival ended on May 9.
