Three-year-old on verge of joining Mensa

A three-year-old girl is on the verge of joining Mensa, the high-intelligence society.

If accepted, it would make Saffron Pledger from Essex in the UK one of the youngest-ever members of Mensa.

Saffron is the daughter of an eight-times Countdown champion and she apparently learned the alphabet by watching him on the show.

Her IQ of 140 is 40 points higher than the national average, but still 14 points off Carol Vorderman's.
