Chopstick skewers student's jaw

A chopstick went through a Chinese student's chin in a freak accident.

Xiao Wei was carrying his lunch and a pair of the dining implements across a basketball court when his phone rang, causing him to put the chopsticks in his mouth.

At that moment a runaway ball flew into him and one of the chopsticks skewered him through the bottom of his jaw.

It was not the first time doctors in China have had to deal with an injury related to the the small wooden sticks, with a 50-year-old man undergoing surgery last year to remove one he had swallowed 28 years earlier.
