Survey finds high number of children carry knives in the UK

Hundreds of British children have admitted carrying a knife for their own protection in the last year.

But figures from the British Crime Survey also reveal most thought doing so meant they were more likely to be stabbed themselves.

Almost 2,000 children aged 13 to 15 were interviewed for the surveywith 1 in 100 saying they had taken a knife out with them.
