Snail-man completes marathon in 26 days
A British man took 26 days to complete the London Marathon - dressed as a snail.
Although slow-coach Lloyd Scott has tackled the epic race before, doing his first marathon in 1990, he still has room for improving his speed, completing just over a mile a day in a giant costume depicting Brian the Snail from children's television programme 'The Magic Roundabout'.
Speaking from the finish line outside Buckingham Palace in London, 49-year-old Lloyd said: "It's an enormous relief to finish.
"The big problems have been the weather because it gets very, very hot inside, and then there are the deposits that are left on the pavement - glass, nails, doggy doo-dah, takeaway meals."
He has raised more than €5.6m for various charities since first running the marathon.
