Mexican resort launches gold-flake ice lolly
A Mexican hotel resort has launched the world's most expensive ice lolly.
The tequila-flavoured popsicle costs $1,000 because it is made from top quality Clase Azul Ultra liquor, which is bottled with 24 carat gold flakes.
Ella Messerie, general manager of the Marquis Los Cabos resort in Baja California Sur, said staff expect the pricey treat to sell well - but punters on a budget can opt for having a shot of the precious drink for just $485 instead.
She said: "From mini-indulgences like the Tequila Pop to indulgent fantasy services and programs, Marquis Los Cabos allows guests to personalise their hotel stay as part of the resort's new approach to service."
