Stowaway takes 620-mile detour

A 10-year-old stowaway travelled 620 miles in the wrong direction in Bolivia.

Franklin Villca Huanaco wanted to visit his mother in prison in Cochabamba and hid himself in a truck which he thought was heading towards the city.

However, the driver was actually going to Iquique in northern Chile and went on his way without knowing Franklin was hidden in a metal container attached to the underside of the truck.

Authorities said he was lucky to survive the two-day journey without food or water while temperatures fell below freezing at night.
