Irish man organises North Pole marathon
An Irishman has organised a marathon in the North Pole.
Richard Donovan was one of 27 people who managed to complete the 26.2 mile run across ice and snow in temperatures of -32C.
He has also run the same distance at the South Pole and has completed the Everest Mountain Marathon, the Himalayan 100-mile Stage and the Trans 333 across the Sahara Desert.
As the fitness fanatic did a test run of the North Pole route before taking the group out, he is the first ever person to have run a marathon at both the North and South Poles.
