Cavity search on US woman reveals 54 bags of heroin

Police arrested an American woman who had 54 bags of heroin and cash hidden inside herself.

Karin Mackaliunas, 27, was taken into custody after she was involved in a vehicle crash in Pennysylvania and was found to have more than 100 items hidden in the most intimate part of her body.

After she was involved in the accident officers suspected her of being connected to a recent burglary, and, during a subsequent examination staff found "up 54 bags of heroin, 31 empty bags used to package heroin, 8.5 prescription pills and $51.25", according to a police report.

She was jailed on $25,000 (€17,598) bail on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
