US robber stands out among Patrick's Day revellers

A robber was caught in the US when police recognised her eye-catching outfit among green-clad St Patrick's Day revellers.

Tihesia Birdlong, 26, robbed a store in Topka, Kansas, wearing a bright blue tracksuit with wide yellow stripes, and was arrested when she was later spotted celebrating the traditional holiday in the same attire.

Police said she went into the convenience store and threatened the attendant with a screwdriver until she was given money.

She later stood out in a sea of green as people took part in a parade celebrating St Patrick's Day.
