Pensioners belt thief with bottle of cleaning fluid

Two pensioners fended off a knifeman with a bottle of cleaning fluid in the UK.

June Cawkill and Norma Doherty were busy cleaning at the Millgate Service Station when a man came in with a knife and demanded they give him money from the till.

But the plucky pair thought quickly, with Norma knocking the robber over the head with the bottle as June brandished a pair of scissors to scare him off.

Norma said: "I wasn't really thinking what I was doing, but I hit him a few times with the bottle and he ran out the shop. It was all very amateurish. I don't think he had given it much thought."
