Scientists make progress in detection of bowel cancer

Scientists have discovered what could be the first step towards a DNA test to detect the early signs of bowel cancer.

Tests on two distinct genes were highly accurate in distinguishing between tumours and benign polyps, or growths in the bowel that can become cancerous.
