Three held following riot at Greek landfill site

Three people were arrested and two officers injured as residents opposing a new landfill site clashed with police in a town near Athens, Greek authorities said.

Police said the violence started when a crowd threw molotov cocktails and stones at Keratea’s police station in protest at the detention of a local man suspected of involvement in previous clashes.
