Egyptian security officials said today that up to 200 protesters were detained during clashes with thousands of Tunisia-inspired demonstrators who were demanding an end to President Hosni Mubarak’s authoritarian rule.

Egyptian security officials said today that up to 200 protesters were detained during clashes with thousands of Tunisia-inspired demonstrators who were demanding an end to President Hosni Mubarak’s authoritarian rule.

They added that more people were likely to be detained as authorities reviewed police video tapes of the nationwide protests.
