The US department of Defence has made a new computer out of 1,760 Playstation 3 consoles.

The new system – dubbed the Condor Cluster – is the department’s fastest interactive computer and is capable of performing 500 trillion floating point operations per second and the consoles were used as they provide maximum computing power at a budget price.
