Swan frozen to driveway nursed back to health

An injured swan became frozen to a driveway in the UK.

Homeowner Jack Gilbert noticed the animal was stuck and managed to release it by pouring warm water around the ice - however, it only moved a few steps before stopping again.

He later called voluntary group Bishops Wood Swan Rescue to come and collect the injured animal, with his grandparents keeping up its strength by feeding it bread.

During a recent cold snap in Britain, the Royal Society for the Protection of Animals had to take care of 5,467 incidents.
