Britain's biggest dog dies

A great dane-newfoundland cross - ironically-named Tiny - has passed away at the grand old age of 10, weighing in at a mammoth 150kg.

Owner Iain Newby said: "He was a fantastic dog and we all have so many good memories of him. We had to give him his own sofa to sleep on because he was so big and clumsy."

The pooch will now pass on his title to 124kg Samson, who is more than 2m tall when standing on his hind legs.

Samson's owner Julie Woods explained: "He costs more than £60 to feed each month but we absolutely adore him."
