Spontaneous loving ends in river rescue

A German couple have been rescued from the Rhine after their vehicle rolled into the river during a passionate lovemaking session.

The unnamed pair had been enjoying a spot of al fresco intimacy when they accidentally kicked the automatic gearstick into drive, sending the car cascading into the water.

A police spokesperson explained: "The car had been running to keep the interior warm and before they realised what had happened it had shifted from park to drive and they were off."

Luckily, the passionate pair escaped from the scene unscathed.
