Woman, 84, dies following rail platform push

An 84-year-old woman was pushed to her death from a Los Angeles commuter train platform and another woman was arrested, US authorities said today.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Captain Mike Parker said Betty Sugiyama was on a Metro Gold Line platform when she was pushed on to the empty tracks. She was injured in the fall and died in hospital.
