Vietnam soldiers reburied in military cemetery

The remains of 40 communist soldiers killed during a battle in the Vietnam War were reburied in a military cemetery after being unearthed during a search.

Lieutenant Colonel Do Van Dai of the military command of central Dak Nong province said it took excavators nearly four weeks to recover the remains following a tip.

He said the soldiers are believed to have died during an attack on a base of the US-backed South Vietnamese army in December 1965.

Lt Col Dai said the remains were now reburied in a military cemetery.
