US to impose new sanctions on North Korea

Washington is to impose new sanctions on communist North Korea, US secretary of state Hillary Clinton said today.

Mrs Clinton said at a joint press conference in Seoul that the sanctions are part of a series of measures designed to stop nuclear proliferation.
