At least nine people were killed today in what appeared to be a series of co-ordinated attacks across Baghdad targeting police and army personnel, Iraqi officials said.

At least nine people were killed today in what appeared to be a series of co-ordinated attacks across Baghdad targeting police and army personnel, Iraqi officials said.

They said the violence was mostly the work of gunmen in speeding cars attacking police and army checkpoints which dot the capital as well as military patrols in the early hours.
