Bush decided UN backing was not necessary, says Blair

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair said today that US President George Bush decided the United Nations Security Council’s support “wasn’t necessary” to invade Iraq.

UN backing for the Iraq war would have made “life a lot easier” however, said Blair.
