Bin Laden claims responsibility for Christmas Day plane bomb

Al Jazeera TV have said they have a new voice recording of Osama bin Laden in which he claims responsibility for the Christmas Day attempt to blow up an American jet.

Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab is charged with attempting to blow up a plane as it approached Detroit on a flight from Amsterdam with almost 300 people were on board.

It has led to heightened security in the US and a review of its terror 'watch-list'.
