British journalist killed in Afghanistan blast

A British journalist was killed in an explosion in Afghanistan yesterday, the British Ministry of Defence announced today.

Rupert Hamer, the Sunday Mirror’s defence correspondent, died of his wounds at the scene north-west of Nawa.
