Software bug hits credit cards in Germany

Millions of German bank cards have been affected by a computer bug because they contain software that cannot process the number 2010.

The DSGV group, which represents public-sector banks, said today that 20 million debit cards were affected, along with around 3.5 million credit cards - nearly half of the total number issued by those banks.
