US Democrats predict heathcare success

Democrats confidently predicted today that President Barack Obama’s healthcare overhaul would clear the US Senate after it passed the second of three critical procedural votes.

A final vote on Mr Obama’s top domestic priority is planned for 8am (1pm Irish time) tomorrow. It will mark the 25th consecutive day of Senate debate on healthcare.
