US secretary of state Hillary Clinton will today urge Russian leaders to impose “specific forms of pressure” against Iran if the regime fails to obey international demands to prove its nuclear programme is peaceful.

US secretary of state Hillary Clinton will today urge Russian leaders to impose “specific forms of pressure” against Iran if the regime fails to obey international demands to prove its nuclear programme is peaceful.

Mrs Clinton will meet Russian president Dmitry Medvedev and foreign minister Sergei Lavrov to discuss Iran, Afghanistan and the Obama administration decision to scale back a Bush-era proposal for an anti-missile shield in Europe.
