Four US troops killed in Afghanistan

Four US troops were killed in an attack in the province of Kunar in Afghanistan today, it was announced.

Fifty-one US troops died in Afghanistan in August, making it the deadliest month for American forces in the deadliest year since the invasion in late 2001. The latest deaths bring to 11 the number of US service members killed so far in September.
